Large trucks and trailers, or other major transportation equipment can not be parked in any yard between the building line and public street in any residential zone.

Vehicles of any type in inoperable condition with expired license tags parked or stored on any residential zoned premises must be stored in a completely enclosed building or carport. Vehicles that can not meet these requirements must be removed from the property and relocated to a lawful area of storage within seven (7) days.

Homeowners or tenants are responsible for keeping their lawns mowed. Unsightly high grass and weeds pose a fire hazard, block visibility for drivers, harbor rodents, snakes and contribute to pests like mosquitoes and chiggers. City code requires property owners to keep grass and weeds in their yards under 12 inches.

Major recreational equipment cannot be parked or stored on any lot, street, or other public right-of-way in a residential district except in a carport or enclosed building or behind the building line of that portion of the primary building closest to the street. Major recreational equipment is defined as including boats and boat trailers, travel trailers, pick-up campers or coaches (designed to be mounted on automotive vehicle), motorized dwellings, tent trailers, and the like, and cases and box used for transporting recreational equipment, whether or not occupied by such equipment.

Roll carts should be placed at the curb prior to 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day and should be removed from the street by 7:00 p.m. the same day. Roll carts not removed from the street after 7:00 p.m. may be tagged and the customer charged $5.00 for removal of the cart by City staff.

No person, owner, or occupant of any property in the city may not allow such property to be maintained in a manner allowing for the accumulation of brush, rubbish, weeds, debris or other unhealthy or unsightly material or conditions which constitute a public nuisance. Exterior property must be maintained free from weeds or grasses in excess of twelve inches. All trees and shrubs must be under seven-feet in height which are not cultivated and cared for by the property owner or person controlling the property.

Certain signs can not be placed, installed, erected or constructed on any property within the City of North Augusta without prior approval. Signs found to be in violation of this section or placed within public property or right of way may be  removed without prior notification to the property owner. Additional information about sign regulations can be found in Article 13, Signs, of the North Augusta Development Code. Sign Zoning Review Applications must be approved by the Planning and Development Department prior to issuance of building permits by the Building Standards Department.

Swimming pools are required to have barriers a minimum of 48-inches high. Pools must be maintained in a clean, sanitary condition and in good repair at all times.
